Event Navigation

Dr. Monica Radu, assistant professor of sociology, presents a sociological lens to better understand how students perceive academic integrity and dishonesty. The article she will discuss, “Student Cheating: A Dramaturgical Analysis of Identity, Deception, and Self-deception” by Susan. A. Stearns, draws from a sample of 72 students from across the nation who were asked to participate in a survey regarding academic integrity.

“I think the participants’ answers to the survey questions are going to be relatable for students, which hopefully will spark a really interesting conversation following the presentation,” Radu said. “I want students to leave Southeast with integrity, valuing honestly, and living by a set of principles that they can be proud of.”
