SEMO Blue Hack

September 18 @ 8:30 am - 6:00 pm

Event Navigation

The second annual SEMO Blue Hack, in partnership with IBM, gives undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to develop real-world skills throughout a day-long hackathon event. Students gain direct experience by pitching solutions to real world problems, networking, improving the regional community and earning monetary prizes.

Face coverings are required. Students may register as an individual or in teams at catapultsemo.com/semo_bluehack.

As part of the competition, students must develop innovative solutions to a common problem unique to the southeast Missouri region identified by local-area entrepreneurs. Students will then present their ideas in a five-minute pitch format to a team of judges for prizes. First place prize is $400, second place is $300 and third place is $200.

The pitch presentations will be followed by a Q&A. Additionally, A team of advisers will attend a working lunch to provide students additional advice in their field of expertise. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
