‘Mental Landscapes’ Opens Sept. 4 at Catapult

“Mental Landscapes,” an exhibition of sculptural works by Jennifer Torres, will be on display Sept. 4-25 at Southeast Missouri State University’s Catapult Creative House.
Torres’ work explores issues of equality, social and environmental justice. Torres was born in Queens, New York, and spent her childhood in Teaneck, New Jersey. She completed four years of studio training at the Art Students League in New York City, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. As a student, she focused on steel fabrication, casting, woodworking and photography.
“Mental Landscapes” opens Friday, Sept. 4 from 5-9 p.m. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
